Angela Carruthers  talked through her method of preparing a painting, in preparation for our trip to Copped Hall

August 11th Picnic Date at Hylands Park,Chelmsford  Take a trip around the restored house for design inspiration and enjoy a picnic lunch in the grounds.

Meet at 11am in front of the House

Monday 11th August - Picnic at Hylands Park
Meet in front of the House at 11am for a tour of the house followed by a picnic. There is a cafe in the restored stable block near the House although it gets very busy which usually means a long wait,but might be nice for a coffee later, or if you arrive early. There is also a shop and some artists' quarters there .

Visiting the House 

It is important that visitors to the House use the signposted Hylands House entrance from the A414 dual carriageway (London Road). Please follow the road through the park to use the car park located next to the House. There is no vehicle access to this car park from the Park only entrance, on the A414 single carriageway (Writtle bypass). When driving through the park, please respect other park users, use your hazard warning lights and keep to the 10mph speed limit.
