Branch Events 2017/18


Branch events are open to members only and places must be booked in advance. We are however a friendly group and open to new members joining!


Most workshops are held the first Saturday of each month, in Toot Hill Village Hall, near Ongar from 10am-4pm.  Please note details on the dates below will change slightly during the year; we will try to keep them up to date here but will also try to notify members directly of any sudden short-notice changes! Please book spaces by emailing Sue O on



Meetings planned for 2018:

Jan 6th- AGM and Decolourant workshop

Feb 3rd- Weaving on small frames- use your scrap silk and saved textile pieces and beads etc to make a small wall hanging with Ang from Weird Weave (confirmed, limited spaces)

Mar 3rd- Microwave dyeing and playday Cancelled due to snow, sorry

Apr 7th- Marbling on silk -please email to check your booking

May 12th- Card making with our resident artist, Sue Thomas

June 2nd- Copped Hall picinic and workshop- earlier this year to see a different range of flowers! 

July 5-7th- Batik Wax annual 3 day workshop -includes at least one taught day by Sue Thomas (TBC)

Aug 4th- Playday using inspiration from the members

Sept 1st- Sewing -reverse applique with silk (TBC)

Oct 6th- Working with salt  

Nov 3rd- TBD

Dec 1st- Xmas meeting and lunch- possibly making lanterns/lampshades
