Branch Events 2017

Branch events are open to members only and places must be booked in advance. We are however a friendly group and open to new members joining!


Most workshops are held the first Saturday of each month, in Toot Hill Village Hall, near Ongar from 10am-4pm.  Please note details on the dates below will change slightly during the year; we will try to keep them up to date here but will also try to notify members directly of any sudden short-notice changes! Jan 7th- AGM and making cards

Feb 4th- preparing work for sale and exhibition

Mar 4th- playday theme: "Serendipity" and preparing for our exhibition 10th-24th

Apr 1st-  silk paper workshop with Sue O'Hea

May 6th- Hidden gutta/no lines workshop with Sue Thomas

June 3rd- playday theme: "Skies"

June 29th-1st July- wax workshop and playdays: 1 or 2 days will be led by Sue Thomas, probably Thurs 29th & Fri 30th

                 There will also be PAT testing of portable electrical applicances available for Guild members. Details TBA

Aug 5th- Playday

Aug 19th- annual tour, picnic and sketching at Copped Hall

Sept 2nd- PLayday- "autumn"

Oct 7th- Procion dyes basic techniques

Nov 4th- decolourant workshop

Dec 2nd- Xmas lunch and working with special effects on silk with alcohol/white spirit


Last year our sessions included felting, general silk painting techniques, a 3 day workshop in the summer and a japanese-themed workshop. Please see the Gallery within the Past Events page for some highlights.
