Sat 13- Sun14th July 2019, South Essex College, Luker Rd,
Southend on Sea, Essex, SS1 1ND
We are currently finalising details of the next national Festival which we hope to be hosting in Southend next July. We intend to hold it in South Essex College's modern purpose built faculities and to take advantage of the good-value University of Essex accommodation next door too for some attendees!
We're currently talking to potential tutors to ensure we can offer an exciting range of workshops for you across the two full days, as well as an annual dinner and a gallery exhibition of pieces submitted for our Group and Individual Challenges, and a chance for you to show off what you have been doing over the past 2 years. We will be building a website here to help you find out information and book workshops and accommodation, over the next few months, and will be going live with booking in the Autumn of 2018.
Southend is a seaside destination and large lively town easy to reach by train from London (Fenchurch St or Liverpool Street), by air to Southend Airport (including flights via Manchester from the Isle of Man) and by road.
Our theme will be "Beside the Sea" -naturally!- and we hope to take advantage of sunny summer weather to enjoy the town a little as well as workshops. Think estuary birds and calm waters, deckchairsand beach-huts, the longest pier in the world, cockle boats, Victorian villas, seafront hotels, neon lights, rides and arcades, fish and chips on the promenade, theatres parks and art galleries!
If you would like to run a workshop or have any questions please get in touch with our organiser, Julie Winnard, on firstname.lastname@example.org
